The festival hosts several events throughout the year. Films with “Selected” judging status are screened at the festival office in Budapest, Hungary. Films and screenplays with “Nominee” status are invited to the gala, traditionally held in a different European country each edition.

Entries must be made through the official FilmFreeway platform.

“Selected”

Selected films are shown at live screening events held every one to two months at the festival office in Budapest, Hungary.

“Nominee”

Nominee films and screenplays are invited to the Director’s Cut Gala, traditionally held in a different European country each edition.

Director's Cut

1. Submission Guidelines

1.1 Submission Process:

  • Submissions must be made through our official entry platform FilmFreeway.

1.2 Materials:

  • Films must be submitted in digital format (.mp4 or .mov preferred) or with a online link (Vimeo, YouTube, etc).
  • A high-resolution poster and at least one still from the film must be provided.

2. Film Requirements

Originality and Rights:

  • Films must be original works and not infringe on any copyrights or intellectual property rights.
  • Filmmakers must have the rights to all music, images, and content used in their film.

3. Selection Process

3.1 Judging:

  • Films will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals.
  • Selection criteria include originality, creativity, technical proficiency, and overall impact.

3.2 Notification:

  • Filmmakers will be notified of their selection status via email on the Notification Date stated on our FilmFreeway page.

4. Terms and Conditions

4.1 Permissions:

  • By submitting a film, filmmakers grant the Director's Cut international film Festival the right to screen the film at the festival and use excerpts (up to 2 minutes), stills, and biographical information for promotional purposes.

4.2 Liability:

  • The festival is not responsible for any loss or damage to submitted materials.
  • The festival reserves the right to disqualify any film that does not comply with these rules and terms.

4.3 Changes and Amendments:

  • The festival reserves the right to make changes to these rules and terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants via email and updated on our website.

5 Acceptance:

  • By submitting a film, participants acknowledge and agree to these rules and terms.
